H13
H-13 is chromium, molybdenum, vanadium hot work tool steel which has high hardenability and excellent toughness; this is due to the fact that the material contains molybdenum and vanadium which are strengthening agents. The chromium content of H-13 resists softening when at high temperatures. H-13 has a good combination of shock and abrasion resistance, and good red hardness. As a hot work tool steel 1.2344 is suitable for a wide variety of applications. It combines very good red-hardness with toughness and tools from can be water-cooled in service. . H-13 has good machinability, weldability and good ductility.

It combines very good high temperature toughness with shock and fatigue strength characteristics. 1.2714 has good hardening properties. It is immune to tempering brittleness due to the content of molybdenum. It is mainly used for manufacturing hot-extrusion die, swage hammers, etc.
